Route and stops

Around 25 km through Reykjavík, in a private Volkswagen Caravelle seating up to 8. These are the classic stops, in the order the road reaches them; your group can change them.

   Hallgrímskirkja

   The 74-metre church whose stepped concrete tower is the city’s landmark. The lift to the top gives the best view over the coloured rooftops to the mountains.

   Harpa concert hall and the old harbour

   The glass-fronted concert hall on the waterfront, and the harbour beside it where the whale-watching boats leave. The Sun Voyager sculpture is a short walk along the shore.

   Perlan

   The glass dome on Öskjuhlíð hill, built on the city’s hot-water storage tanks. Its observation deck looks over the whole capital area.

• Short enough to fit a long layover or a cruise-ship port call, and it can start or finish at Keflavík Airport on request.
• Everything on this route is inside the city; expect a lot of short stops rather than long drives.

How long is the Reykjavik Sightseeing?

2 hours door to door, covering around 25 km. That includes pickup from your accommodation and the return.

Where does the tour start?

Pickup is from Reykjavík (hotels / selected pickup points). Choose your date and time at checkout and add your address in the booking notes.

Is this a taxi tour?

Yes. Iceland Shuttles is a licensed taxi company, so this is a private taxi tour: your group only, in your own Volkswagen Caravelle with your own driver, from pickup to drop-off.

Is there an entry fee at the stops?

Harpa concert hall and the old harbour are free to visit. Hallgrímskirkja: church free; the tower lift charges admission. Perlan: exhibitions and observation deck charge admission. Any admission along the way is paid by you, and we can book tickets for you on request.

Can you book entry tickets for us?

Yes. Admission is paid by you, but we can book it on request, for example for Sky Lagoon and FlyOver Iceland. Mention it in the booking notes or message us before the day.

Is the price per person or per vehicle?

Per vehicle, set by group size: 28,000 kr. for up to 4 passengers, 36,500 kr. for 5–8. The price covers the whole Volkswagen Caravelle, so the cost per person falls as your group grows.

Can we change the route or add a stop?

Yes, as much as you like. It is your own vehicle and driver, so you choose the stops and the order: keep the classic route, add stops or skip some. Tell us in the booking notes or message us before the day.

What should I bring?

Layers, a waterproof jacket and shoes with grip. Icelandic weather changes within the hour, and several stops involve spray or uneven ground. Bring a phone or camera with a full battery; the vehicle has charging.

Do you have child seats?

Yes. Child seats are available for the vehicle. Enter the number of children when you book and add their ages in the pickup details, so the right seats are fitted before we collect you.

Can I cancel or change the booking?

Cancellations are accepted up to 48 hours before the scheduled service, as set out in our cancellation policy; a booking cannot be cancelled inside that window. To move a date or time, contact us as early as you can and we will do our best to accommodate it.
