Before your pickup

3. Be ready at the door a few minutes before the agreed time; the driver will come to the entrance rather than wait at the kerb.

The route

From the city the car heads out through Kópavogur, Garðabær and Hafnarfjörður onto Route 41, Reykjanesbraut, the 50 km road across the lava fields of the Reykjanes peninsula. About twenty minutes before the airport you pass the turn-off for the Blue Lagoon and Grindavík, then the terminal comes into view across open ground. In normal conditions the drive takes around 50 minutes; in winter weather or at the morning rush it can take longer, so allow a margin when you set the pickup time.

  The four of us used Iceland Shuttles for a transfer from Keflavík Airport to Reykjavík. Our flight from Canada was delayed, but the driver was tracking our flight and met us at the arrival gate with a sign. They were patient, professional, and friendly. The car was also very clean. The price was great, especially because the driver took us directly from the airport to our door. It was much quicker and more convenient than taking the airport bus, which drops you off at a station where you then have to take another form of transportation. We would definitely use Iceland Shuttles again!
